About Havfrua
A small place with plenty of room for people
Havfrua Kro is on Sommarøya, out by the open sea. Locals, cabin owners and travellers meet here over a cup of coffee, a warm meal and often a chat with Anne-Grete.

Anne-Grete and Havfrua
Behind Havfrua stands Anne-Grete Jensen, originally from Brensholmen nearby. She has run Havfrua since 1 May 2004, and the café has become a natural stop for both locals and travellers coming to Sommarøya from all over the world.
For Anne-Grete, Havfrua is about more than food and coffee. She enjoys meeting people, is curious about where guests come from and happily chats when time allows. On busy summer days, people from many different countries might pass through the café in a single day.
You don't need to be a regular to feel welcome here. Whether you're from the next village or have travelled halfway around the world, the idea is the same: you should be able to sit down, get something good to eat and feel that you're welcome.

A café out by the open sea
Havfrua is a classic local café on Sommarøya – simple, informal and with no need to be anything other than what it is.
On the menu you'll find familiar roadside food, coffee, cakes and warm meals. Some come for dinner, others just for a coffee before the journey continues. In summer the area fills with travellers, while Havfrua remains a meeting place for the people who live and spend time in the area the rest of the year.
The location is a big part of the experience. Right outside the door lies the Northern Norwegian landscape with mountains, sea, weather and shifting light.
